Raymarine SeaTalk NG Backbone Cables
In a SeaTalkngnetwork installation, a Backbone cable can run either the length of the boat, or be situated in a tight space, to allow for the integration of Raymarine STng or NMEA 2000 devices. Individual devices connect to the Backbone by way of a Spur cable that connect to SeaTalkng 5-Way or T-Connector on the Backbone. The Backbone carries both data and power to the attached devices using a multi-talker, multi-listener approach using serial data at moderate date rates (250kbs). The Backbone cable, and sections, should be laid out so it will run past every location where a SeaTalkNG, or NMEA 2000 device might need to be inserted into the network. SeaTalkng Reference Manual |
