Samson 901 Aluminum Splicing Fids
Tubular aluminum splicing fids are used to create a permanent eye on the end of a double-braid rope.
Choose from 1/4" diameter to 3/4" diameter Samson Fids.
Samson has designed them to serve Double Braid Class I ropes made with traditional fibres, including Olefin, Polyester or Nylon.
Packaged with basic spicing instructions. (Except for the 1/4" Fid size, see Instructions below.)
An optional Pusher will be helpful for extracting the core or pushing the fid through the rope.
Samson Fids are 100% scale, meaning that the overall length of the fid is equal to the actual fid length for the corresponding rope diameter. Each fid is also scored to indicate the short and long lengths.
We recommend sanding a new fid with 400 or 600-grit Wet/Dry sandpaper to smooth and allow it to glide through the splice crossover easily.
