Optiparts BlackGold Optimist Booms
Unlike other Optimist spar manufacturer, BlackGold offers 3 choices of booms;
- EX940 40 mm Blackgold Medium Boom.
- A stiff and lightweight boom suitable for the majority of sailors. Supplied with the majority of new boats.
- EX945 45 mm Blackgold Power Boom.
- Stiffer to keep more tension on the leech for the heavier sailor. The smaller bridle gives more space when tacking.
- EX955 55 mm BlackMax Boom.
- The ultra-stiff and yet lightweight boom can be used without a bridle. This enables the larger sailor to land further forward when tacking.
All booms are made from a high-grade, tempered tube. Fitted with captive eye straps, black nylon end fittings, nylon outhaul cleat, 4 mm Vectran outhaul and bridle, Vectran vang and outhaul trim gauge.
