Ratchet Blocks allow sailors to hand-hold loaded lines and offer a balance between holding power and controlled easing.
Machined aluminum sheaves are Hard Lube-anodized for strength and corrosion resistance. An eight-facet sheave holds the line securely with a 10:1 holding power, while certain Ratchamatic Blocks offer a 15:1 holding power.
Ball bearings, sheaves, and side plates are UV-stabilized with carbon black for maximum protection.
With a 1,800-pound working load, the 3" Midrange Single grips loaded sheets up to 9/16" in diameter, allowing sailors to ease and trim quickly and with complete control. A switch on the side engages and disengages the ratchet mechanism.
Midrange Hexaratchet blocks grip loaded sheets, yet allow sailors to ease and trim quickly and with complete control. A switch on the side engages and disengages the ratchet mechanism.
This is for port-side spinnaker and jib sheets, where the ratchets must rotate in opposite directions, and the On/Off switches must be face up. It matches the 1549 Starboard Hexaratchet®.
