Canadian Tide and Current Tables Queen Charlotte Sound to Dixon Entrance Volume 7 2020
Mainland tidal Reference Ports are Prince Rupert, Bella Coola, Kitimat, Wadhams, Bella Bella, and Hiekish Narrows. Island Reference Stations are located at Langara Pt, Hunger Harbour and Queen Charlotte in the Queen Charlotte Islands. Tide Tables provide predicted times and heights of the high and low waters associated with the vertical movement of the tide. These tables are necessary for obtaining the depth of water under the keel or over a shoal, for anchoring and for establishing the appropriate times for beaching a boat.
Times and heights for all daily high and low waters at the Reference Ports are predicted and listed in daily tables. Current tables provide predicted times for slack water and the times and velocities of maximum current, all of which are associated with the horizontal movement of the tide. This information is for efficient navigation, especially when under sail. |
